NHL to investigate Evander Kane over breaking quarantine to fly to Canada

This will likely delay the signing of Evander Kane in the short-term. The NHL is investigating how Evander Kane managed to cross the border from the United States into Canada on December 29.

Kane tested positive for COVID-19 on December 21, and then flew to Vancouver on the 29th. At the time, Kane would have still been under 10-day AHL COVID-19 protocol.

When the San Jose Sharks terminated his contract on Sunday, it was due to "breaching his standard player contract" and "violation of the AHL COVID-19 protocols."

Despite the off-ice troubles, several teams have contacted Kane's agent with interest in signing the talented winger. The most likely to sign him, however, appears to be the Edmonton Oilers at the moment.

Oilers GM Holland contacted Kane's agent as he believes in "second chances" despite Kane now being on half-a-dozen chances.

Kane was suspended 21-games prior to the start of the season due to using an invalid COVID-19 vaccination card, yet this was only a small portion of the 30-year-olds troubles.

Canadiens claim Rem Pitlick off waivers from Wild

The Montreal Canadiens have claimed 24-year-old forward Rem Pitlick from the Minnesota Wild.

With 6 goals, 11 points in 20 games with a +1 rating. Why would the Minnesota Wild be getting rid of a depth centerman who is under a contract of just under $1 Million? His contract will be expiring at the end of the 2021-22 season, expect him to receive a slight raise in salary.

A 2016 third-round selection of the Nashville Predators, Pitlick has six goals and five assists for 11 points in 20 games with the Wild this season.

Over his career, he has only played 31 games in the NHL, putting up 13 points. Montreal will be his third team following brief stints with the Nashville Predators and the Minnesota Wild.

NHL world reacts to Kodak Black's NSFW moment at last nights Panthers VS Canucks game

Kodak Black put on quite "a show" during last night's Florida Panthers VS Vancouver Canucks game in Sunrise, Florida.

During a whistle, the rapper was seen gyrating behind a woman on all fours, caught on a cross-arena video from a Panthers season-ticket holder (viewer discretion is advised). The league and the Panthers themselves were heavily promoting the 24-year-old artist attending a hockey game for the South Florida native’s local NHL team.

The Hockey world had all the jokes on Twitter following the hilarious incident.

That was definitely one of the craziest fan moment's to ever happen at an NHL game.

Vancouver Canucks to have five in-person interviews over GM role

Expect the Vancouver Canucks to announce a new GM very soon. The Vancouver Canucks are to have five more in-person interviews for their GM position with Patrik Allvin and Scott Mellanby being two of the finalists.

Pat Verbeek's name has been tossed around as a potential GM candidate, and the team is still not naming the other two potential candidates.

The Vancouver Canucks are 8-1-1 since firing their previous GM Jim Benning back in early December.

Lukas Reichel set for NHL debut with Chicago Blackhawks

Top Blackhawks prospect Lukas Reichel is set to make his NHL debut tomorrow night when the Chicago Blackhawks host the Montreal Canadiens.

Reichel was added to the Blackhawks' taxi squad on Wednesday after he was pulled up from Rockford of the AHL. Interim head-coach Derek King says he plans to start the young forward on Thursday night.

Reichel was selected 17th-overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2020 draft. He has 11 goals and 9 assists in 20 games with the Rockford IceHogs.

Reichel was named AHL player of the week on Monday. He had 4 goals and 4 assists in 4 games with Rockford last week.
