Canucks vs Rangers Gameday Preview (Nov 2nd)

Updated: Nov 25, 2021

The Vancouver Canucks are hosting their fourth home game tonight against the New York Rangers at Rogers Arena at 7pm (PST).

The Rangers have won six of their last seven games on road, whereas the Canucks will be stepping on the ice still looking for their first home win of the season.

The Canucks are hoping that a new month can provide a fresh start to this struggling club that is desperate for a win at home, and to break their current losing streak.

So far this Season :

  • The Vancouver Canucks have 7 points, and currently sit in 8th in the Pacific Division with a 3-5-1 record.

  • The New York Rangers have 13 points, and currently sit in 3rd in the Metropolitan Division with a 6-2-1 record.

These two teams are meeting for the first time since January 4, 2021, when the Canucks won at home 2-1.

At the moment, both teams need to work on getting their offense going. Both teams are in the bottom 8 in goals for per game.

The New York Rangers score on average 2.44 Goals per game, while the Vancouver Canucks average 2.33 Goals per game.

The Rangers currently are 4th in the NHL in Goals Allowed, only allowing 2.11 Goals per game. While the Canucks are currently 11th, only allowing 2.67 goals per game.

This means that the Canucks and Rangers play a very similar game offensively and defensively.

Hamonic is expected to make his long awaited return to the Canucks lineup after not playing since last season. This is what the Vancouver Canucks desperately needed, a provided boost on defense.

in the 2020-21 NHL season, Hamonic had 10 points (3 Goals, 7 Assists) with a -3 rating in 38 Games played.
