Houston’s Toyota Center to include Hockey Equipment in Renovation plans. Expansion coming?

Houston may have an NHL team in the horizon, as the Toyota Center looks to make major renovations hinting towards a potential future hockey team.

According to reports, the Toyota Center in Houston will be undergoing major renovations, which will include the installation of Ice-Making equipment.

The $30 Million renovation was announced on October 6, and will mostly benefit the NBA's Houston Rockets.

This comes just days after NHL commissioner Gary Bettman hinted towards a potential expansion team coming to Houston, Atlanta, Quebec City or Salt Lake City.

Houston has not had a professional Hockey Team since the Houston Aeros of the WHA left the city in 1978.
