The NHL legend, widely regarded as one of the top-10 greatest players in the history of the sport, has announced that he has lost motivation and is considering retirement from professional hockey.
Jagr, at 50-years-old, was still playing professional hockey for Rytiri Kladno of the Czech Extraliga in the Czech Republic.
During his NHL career, the forward had amassed 766 goals and 1,921 total points in 1,733 games played between 9 different teams over 27 seasons.
He currently sits second in all time total points, behind only Wayne Gretzky.
Despite playing his last season in 2017-18 for the Calgary Flames, there was hope that Jagr would return to an NHL team some day. Now, this seems extremely unlikely.
Is this the end of Jaromir Jagr in professional hockey? We hope not.
