NHL game cancelled due to dangerous conditions

In Breaking News, the NHL was forced to cancel one of its three Wednesday Night matchups due to unforeseen circumstances.

Severe weather conditions across the United States have taken place over the last week, and now it has impacted the National Hockey League's scheduling after the first game cancellation of the year was announced on Wednesday morning.

Sabres-Blackhawks game rescheduled

The National Hockey League has officially announced the postponement of game #691, originally slated for the Chicago Blackhawks and Buffalo Sabres at the KeyBank center in Buffalo, NY.

This is due to travel restrictions in the Buffalo area, due to severe snow conditions impacting the city at an alarming rate. This highly dangerous "Dual Lake Effect" snow storm has now caused three casualties in Buffalo.

The rescheduled game will now take place tomorrow, Thursday, January 18, at 7 p.m. ET, reflecting travel restrictions in Buffalo.

Following these changes, Game #689, initially set between the Detroit Red Wings and the Florida Panthers at 7PM EST tonight, will now be nationally broadcast on TNT in the U.S. Additionally, fans in Detroit and Florida can still catch the action locally on Bally Sports Detroit and Bally Sports Florida.
