Sabres sign Rasmus Dahlin to massive Contract Extension

On Monday morning, the team announced a massive contract extension for the future Norris trophy winning defenseman.

Known as one of the best defensemen in the league, Dahlin will remain in Buffalo for a very long time. After signing an 8 Year, $11 Million AAV contract extension.


Dahlin, 23, is coming off a career-high 15 goals and 73 points in 78 games.


The former first-overall pick looks to lift the Sabres to the Postseason for the first time in over a decade.


Dahlin will become the second highest paid defenseman in the league in 2023-24.





He's so competitive," Sabres captain Kyle Okposo said. "That's probably his best leadership quality, how competitive he is. He just wants to win all the time. He wants to be the best. He wants to be on the ice in every situation. He's been incredible."


Dahlin has 233 points (46 goals, 187 assists) in 355 career games. He is one of 12 defensemen in NHL history to hit the 200-point mark before his 23rd birthday.
