The Vancouver Canucks have selected Elias Pettersson with their 80th overall pick in the third round of the 2022 NHL draft. No, Really. There appears to have been a glitch in the matrix.

In a strange twist of events, the Canucks have just landed a second Elias Pettersson on their team.

The Vancouver Canucks are no strangers to Swedish twins. However, this time, it is a little bit more complicated.

The original Elias Pettersson, drafted 5th overall by the Canucks in 2017, has blossomed into a superstar since entering the league in the 2018-19 season. So far in his career he has put up 221 total points in 245 games.

The new Elias Pettersson, given he makes it to the NHL, will be playing defense on the Canucks. Unlike his offensive counterpart.

Now the Canucks just need to find a way to land both Sebastian Aho's.
