Canucks VS Kraken Gameday Preview (Oct 23)

The Vancouver Canucks defeated the Blackhawks in Chicago 4-1 on Thursday night. The Canucks sit currently in 3rd place in the pacific standings with a respectible 2-2-1 record , and Seattle sits in 7th place with a 1-3-1 record and coming off a 4-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils.

This morning, Chicago Blackhawks reportedly placed three players on the COVID-19 Protocol list. The Canucks recently played against Chicago on thursday.

This morning, Green cleared in his interview that all the players on the Canucks had got their COVID-19 test's done before this morning's practice and no positives have been reported.

COVID Protocol is something that we're gonna have to deal with periodically as the season goes on".

- Travis Green

The Canucks have performed to par on this road trip to open the season. It's been a long road trip with some tough opponents.

"Again, this is a fitting game to be done with the road trip, there's gonna be a lot of energy and passion in the game".

- Travis Green in a pre-game interview today.

Both teams are playing in their 6th game of the season. The Seattle kraken are hosting their inaugural home game in Climate Pledge Arena.

Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Wash.

There is a lot of hype going on about the new arena. Fans got their first look inside the locker room and lounge area with their goalie Joey Daccord - as seen down below

The Seattle Kraken placed Alex Barre-Boulet on waivers on Thursday, and he was re-claimed by the Tampa Bay Lightning, ouch.

The Canucks have met the Kraken in 2 preseason games already, with the Kraken coming out on top both times (not like it matters any way ).

I like what JT Miller said in his pre-game interview.

"It should be an easy game to get up for. It's going to be loud out there tonight, and we're going to try and silence them."

Still, I feel like the Canucks need to give their best effort if they want to come out of Seattle with 2 points. Now the question is will we see Pettersson come back from his dry spell ? Will Hoglander step up today and be the same player he was last season?

Nils Hoglander Alongside Elias Pettersson

Here's a look at the Canucks lineups at Practice this morning

Pearson - Horvat - Garland

Miller - Pettersson - Boeser

Highmore - Dickinson - Hoglander

Dowling - lammikko - Chaisson

Oliver-Ekman Larsson - Myers

Hughes - Poolman

Rathbone - Burroughs

Goalies - Demko, Halak

Extras - Podkolzin, Schenn, Hunt

This will be one hell of a game It will be good to see the Vancouver Canucks play a good game and hopefully get the win, Before they head back home for their big home opener against the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night.

My Prediction: 5-2 Canucks
