Western Conference team shockingly fires Head Coach on Tuesday night

On Tuesday night, a Western Conference team has made the shocking decision to fire their head coach.

Following a 6-4 defeat to the Detroit Red Wings, their fourth loss in a row, the St. Louis Blues have made a sudden coaching change.

Craig Berube, in his sixth season at the helm of the Blues, has been relieved of his duties. The team announced on Tuesday night.

Springfield Thunderbirds head coach Drew Bannister has been named as interim head coach.

Berube led this team to a Stanley Cup championship during their infamous surge in the 2018-19 season which saw the Blues storm back from dead last in the NHL into a playoff spot by April.

His overall record with St. Louis is 381-206-131 (.598%).

At 13-14-1, the Blues sit sixth in the Central division just on the outside of a wildcard position.
