Avalanche player to enter NHL's Player Assistance Program












On Monday afternoon, the NHLPA announced that another player has entered the NHL's Player Assistance Program. This time being a member of the Colorado Avalanche.







Nichushkin enters the program



Valeri Nichushkin has entered the Player Assistance Program, and will step away from the team for an indefinite period of time.





This will be a large loss for the Avalanche, who currently sit second in the Central division of the NHL.


Nichushkin has been one of Colorado's most reliable players in the 2023-24 season, recording 22 goals and 42 points in 40 games he's suited up for.



Here is an official statement from Valeri, shared on X by the Colorado Avalanche.





Under the terms of the joint program, he will return to the Club when cleared for on-ice competition by the program administrators.
