Kane rehabbing in Toronto

Free-Agent superstar Patrick Kane requires another month of rehab while he recovers from hip resurfacing surgery in June, according to TSN insider Darren Dreger.

Kane shoots down Leafs rumors

"Thanks, but no thanks" said Kane when asked about his interest in joining Toronto.

"Patrick Kane has stated several times that he does not want to be a Leaf, and that he wants to go to a team that he feels actually has a chance at the Stanley Cup." Weekes said on ESPN radio last September.

Sabres interested in Kane

The Sabres are one of several teams interested in acquiring Kane, a native of the Buffalo Area.

Buffalo has enough cap space to make it happen, with approximately $8.78 million available according to CapFriendly. A short-term deal with Kane would likely reach the $7-8 million AAV range.

Kane would feasibly slot into the Sabres second-line alongside Dylan Cozens and Casey Mittelstadt.

The 34-year-old was drafted 1st overall by the Blackhawks in 2007, and has 451 goals and 1,237 points in 1,180 career games between the Blackhawks and Rangers.

Kane helped lead the Blackhawks to three Stanley Cup championships over his time with the team, taking home the Conn Smythe trophy in 2013.
