NHL history will be made, as the first Female coach is set to appear behind the bench for the Seattle Kraken in their Pre-Season game against the Calgary Flames tonight.

Jessica Campbell, the Assistant Coach of the Kraken's AHL affiliate the Coachella Valley Firebirds, will be coaching the Seattle Kraken tonight.

This is an important moment in Women's hockey history, and will likely open the door for more opportunities for Women in the professional sports world.

Campbell, 31, has been with the Firebirds organization as Assistant Coach since 2022. She previously played NCAA hockey for Cornell, and then going on to play professional hockey for the CWHL's Calgary Inferno, and the Swedish Women's League for Malmo.

Campbell will coach the Krakens split-squad team in Seattle. Playing at 8pm PST.

Should there be more opportunities for Women to coach NHL games in the future?
