Updated: Sep 12, 2023

As we approach the NHL pre-season in the coming weeks, UFA Tomas Tatar is likely signing elsewhere real soon.

Following a brief two season stint with the New Jersey Devils, It appears that Tatar's next team may have been accidentally revealed in an unexpected way.

Tatar to the Islanders?

The news that Tomas Tatar has switched agents surfaced this morning. This normally doesn't mean much. However in this scenario, Tatar will be under the agency Newport Sports Group, which currently represents seven members of the New York Islanders.

Those players are as follows:

Casey Cizikas, Matt Martin, Cal Clutterbuck, Bo Horvat, J.G. Pageau, Zach Parise and Josh Bailey.

Of course this is all speculation. However, we will keep our eyes on this in the coming days and see if any more information comes out about where Tatar may be signing. While this is no guarantee, it could also be a clear indication.

Tatar is coming off an impressive 20-goal, 48 point season with the Devils. However, he struggled in the postseason, recording just 1 goal in 12 games.

Tatar has put up 455 points (211 goals, 244 assists) in 783 career games for the Red Wings, Golden Knights, Canadiens and Devils.

Tomas will bring great leadership to any team, and will prove to be a valuable asset while providing depth and leadership.
