Two key Senators players likely to be traded before the deadline

Two of the Ottawa Senators depth players are likely to be moved at the deadline, one of those include a former 40-goal scoring winger.

Its safe to say, the struggling Senators are going to be sellers as we pass the halfway mark in the 2023-24 season. They currently sit in the basement of the Atlantic divison, and sone big changes are likely on the way including one of their high-scoring wingers and another depth forward.

Senators look to move Tarasenko, Kubalik before deadline

According to reports, the Senators are looking to move Vladimir Tarasenko and Dominok Kubalik before the March 8 trade deadline.

Tarasenko, 32, has been one of the most productive players for the Senators this year, scoring 12 goals and adding 19 assists in just 40 games.

Tarasenko, becoming an Unrestricted-Free Agent at the deadline, will be moved to a contender looking to add scoring at the deadline. This is to ensure that he doesn't walk for nothing during the offseason.

With a $5M cap hit, expect him to receive a raise in salary from whichever team he lands with.

Kubalik, on the other hand, has been productive as a bottom-six player on the Senators. Expect the 28-year-old to play a role in helping a contender out with depth scoring.

Kubalik has just nine goals, three assists in 41 games with Ottawa this year.

Lets take a look at three teams that might look to add Tarasenko.

Three teams that could add Tarasenko

The New York Rangers added Tarasenko before last year's deadline, and they very wel could do the same this time around.

The Washington Capitals are another team that could be interested in adding a goal scorer to their lineup. They look to make a return to the playoffs.

The Colorado Avalanche are always looking to load up on talent before a big playoff run. They will have plenty of cap space ahead of the playoffs with Landeskog going on the LTIR.
