Watch: Devils score two goals in 10 seconds to put away the Dallas Stars 3-1 (Video)

Dallas fumbled their opportunity to pad their lead in the second wildcard spot in the Western conference when they fell 3-1 to the New Jersey Devils on Saturday afternoon.

It took the New Jersey Devils just 10 seconds to score a pair of goals to put away the game after trailing 1-0 entering the third period.

The first goal came from Nico Hischier, who scored his 20th of the year to take a 2-1 lead late in the game.

It only took another 10 seconds for the Pavel Zacha to bury the puck on an odd-man rush to make it 3-1 Devils.

"That's the most disappointing game of hockey we've had all year", said Dallas head coach Rick Bowness following the loss to the Devils.

The Dallas Stars are going to look back on this game if they somehow are to fall out of a playoff spot in the next couple of weeks. With the Vegas Golden Knights catching up and the Vancouver Canucks creeping up on them, this was a game that they had to win.

Dallas now falls to 6-3-1 in their past 10 games, which is still very respectable for a team trying to grab that final wildcard spot.
